Spring turkey photo thread
How about putting all the spring turkey pics in one place, such as this convenient thread I just happened to start.
My best turkey so far. 10" beard, 3/4" spurs. Taken 4/25 on public land in western Oklahoma.

Young bird 3" beard, but I wanted a smaller bird as they taste better.
ETA: I took this one at 47 yards with a 11-87 Super mag 3.5"
My first season turkey hunting and my second morning out. 18 lbs, 1/2 spurs/ 4.5 inch beard. public land in town. I only started hunting last fall and I hunt by myself, nobody showing me what to do.
this morning.

Nice turkey's guys!

20lb 10in. beard with 3/4 spurs... knocked down with my old 870

chuck, chuck, chuck, chuck
Nice birds!
This is last years bird, just picked it up from the taxidermist yesterday.
23lbs 9oz., 9" & 1 1/2" beards, 1 1/2" spurs. Okmulgee county. 58 yards with 3 1/2' #5's out of my Benelli. The bird of a lifetime as far as I'm concerned!

Nice bird. 58 yards? Ouch. I've never pattered my gun that far before. I'm pretty sure my 11-87 with 3" wouldnt touch that. Maybe if I had a longer barrell than this 21" that it came with.

Thank you..That was also my very first turkey. To say I'm proud of it, would be an understatement.
You know, I held right on the top of his head.....I damn near fell over when he did!
I picked up a Comp-N-Choke XX full, a couple of years ago, on the recommendation(for a 26" Benelli) of the guy that makes them, I think? I thought he was nuts....He even told me the 3 1/2" Winchester Supreme #5's would be the best pattern out to 50 yards. That cat did his homework.....I tried everything, I mean everything....would you like to guess how that turned out too?
I patterned it by putting clay pigeons 2 feet apart on the top rail of the fence. Turns one to dust, and the ones next to it didn't have so much as one pellet through them.
I really was hesitant about the shot...last day of the season, wind kicked up and a storm moving in, he was just about to bolt....and poof. And I'd be a damn liar if I said I didn't feel lucky as well
Yeah I've been running a comp-n-choke in my 11-87 for close to 10 years now. Good stuff.
Osceola––9 3/4" beard /1" spurs/19.8 lbs

This is my 2007 bird and best to date.
Beard 10 3/4
Spurs 1 1/2
Weight: 26 1/4
Was #17 in Tenn at the time, but he's gone way down the list since then...they've been shooting some big birds the past 2 years.
