Hey guys i'm in the market for a new spotlight for 'yote hunting and i'm curious what yall are using, how powerful it is, and what you paid for it. I'm looking hard at the streamlight waypoint for $70. I read about 20 reviews on it that claim you can see the full body of a raccoon at 200yds. So if any of you guys are using it I'd love to hear what you think of it.

Lightforce 240s It makes it look like daylight. LOL From, yesterday.

I have a Hellfighter also and that RULES, but kind of expensive.

Elusive Wildlife's XLR 250 is the best bang-for-the-buck for a kill light.

I use Brinkman Q-beam 700,000 candlepower 12 volt spotlights. I've used these for years with great success. They cost $20 from the brinkman website and I think red lenses for it were about $8. I double up the red lenses and add a homemade extension on it. I don't think you can see a coon body at 200yds but it is plenty light for everything out to 100yds. I don't like my light too bright. I just bought 2 new ones last year but havent used them yet still using my older one but I figured with the abuse it takes it won't last much longer. It is light weight also and that helps on a long night of calling.

I am compiling a review of an Un-Bee-Leviable custom made flashlight for $299. It's called the DEFT EDC-LR, and it runs on a single rechargeable battery (18650 li-ion, if you're keeping score). Made just outside of Dallas, TX, and this thing fits in the palm of my hand while producing 60K lux. In layman's terms, I can light up the belly of an airplane. When I finish the review, I will have tons of info. Here's a cell phone pic for now. If you want to check out their website, I can't recommend it highly enough.

Wisconsin doesn't like shining, even on yotes. I use a handheld night scope and a boresighted laser.

Quick update, I got the streamlight for an XMAS gift and all I can say is WOW!

Weight: Thing weighs less than a medium streamlight flashlight
Build: It's made of ABS plastic but still feels very sturdy in your hands like it will take some bumps and bruises
Power: I've only had the chance to take this thing in the backyard and shine some known targets but I was looking at some light tan boards at a ranged 200yds and could see them plain as day. I imagine in complete darkness that this thing would be easily capable of lighting up targets at 2-300yds.
Conclusion: I'm sure there are brighter lights out there. But if you are a ground hunter like me where weight, cost, and quality are my main concerns I don't think you can go wrong with this unit. Happy hunting. If you guys are interested I will try and post some post hunt thoughts on this thing as well. Just let me know.
