Night Yotes

unfortunately Wisconsin doesn't allow shining coyoes (which I find odd since it's open season year round), and this includes laser sights. My question is: How do you guys do your night hunting of coyotes that I would be able to do? I'm pretty sure my options are limited, but I'm open to suggestions.

I already have a NV hand held unit and just purchased a NV scope for my night time WMR. Gen 1 $400

I use a cheap handheld unit " night owl" or something like that. I picked it up on the EE here for like a hundred bucks.
Since you cannot spot them check out TNVC " the night vision co. Over in the industry forum they have some awesome nv stuff.
And there is a good nightvision forum on here too you can learn all about the different generations of nv and which brands are reccomended for rifle use.

You can hunt under a 3/4 or full moon if you have a quality scope.
Alternatively, a lot of people around here just spotlight them anyways. Just be careful and the chances of getting caught are extremely slim.

I'll probably just get a handheld unit and a boresighted laser to hunt them.

I hear that animals can't pick up red light. I have a Fenix TK40, I'd like to get a red filter. Anyone have any ideas?

RED LED torches really work outstanding for predator and hog hunting.
Remember, most mammals, except the bipedal primate kind, are all Red-Green color blind on the account of their retinal ganglion cone cells all being dichromatic. They simply do not have the means to see Red or Green, same as a human that has the X-linked Red-Green color blind gene mutation.
Hogs and dogs both see the same dichromatic red-green color blind spectrum.
Fenix does not make a red filter for the TK40, filters really decrease the light output anyways.
Try getting an Olight M-20 Crimson or an Elusive Wildlife Technologies KLR-250 with the Cree Red Led, they both work great!
