Recommend to me a good electronic predator call (coyote hunting)
As of now I have been using a howler with mixed luck. I bought a cheap electronic call that supposedly simulates a wounded rabbit. It works really well on hawks, but in all the hunts I have used it on it has brought in not a single yote. So I'm looking for a really good electronic caller. If I have to spend a few hundred bucks on one that works so be it. I just want one that works, and works well. Any recommendations?
Aaahhhh...............there is an android app of animal calls. Never tried it except in the supermarket meat department where I shop.
Foxpro is numero uno IMO. I love mine. Call them up and see if they have any refurbished one. I got a Firestorm w/ their new transmitter for $100 less than what they cost new(and it looks brand new). They programmed it with about 150 different calls. I've called crows, coyotes, raccoons, etc..
I've got a FoxPro SpitFire, FireStorm and Prairie Blaster and Jack in Box Decoy from FoxPro, all are simply first rate and work outstanding on helping me kill coyotes night and day...
Check them out here:

Best Bang for the Buck!

I use the foxpro spitfire with a mojo decoy works great. I also use carver hand calls that are awesome for the money.

I read some reviews on various calls from Cabelas. Seems the Fox Pro Spitfire is the one to get/highest rated.
+1 for the foxpro
spitfire owner here too
another satisfied foxpro user here
IMO, it's worth the extra money for the Firestorm. But if you are on a tight budget, then the Spitfire will work nicely.
I've tried just about every e-caller out there (no joke) and FoxPro is the best for the money.

Yes, I agree 100%, I started out with the SpitFire and it is a good deal, got a FireStorm and love it, and also got a Prairie Blaster, I use all three depending on when and where I am calling,
You pretty much summed up my experience!

What's the major difference between the two?
The SpitFire is the low end introductory unit with 24 sounds, the FireStorm is a middle priced unit with many more features and a more powerful transmitter and also the FoxBang feature. The FireStorm also holds up to 200 calls, is easier to program, has an external battery charging plug.
One nice thing is they have the tripod camera nut in the bottom for mounting elevated on a tirpod too.

Firestorm is awesome. I love mine. My buddy has a spitfire that actually has my favorite sounds preprogrammed on it, but it just doesn't have enough volume in my opinion.
Other companies make game calls besides FoxPro?
The feature that actually matters as you move up in digital callers is the volume. KISS concert level volume isn't always needed, but when it is, you'll be sad if you don't have it.
The extended memory is nice, but I only really regularly use about a dozen sounds anyway.

Lots. Minaska makes a good caller (didn't use to, but since they got bought out things have improves a lot) and Gametraks makes a good unit. Not very loud, but crystal clear. Wildlife Technologies also makes great callers, but they aren't the most inexpensive units. There are, of course, literally hundreds of others, all with pros and cons, but as I mentioned before you'll save yourself the pain and suffering of spending hard earned cash on callers that are sub-par if you just stick with Foxpro - and Foxpro customer service can't be beat, IMO.
FoxPro Customer Service Rocks and so does their five year warranty!

Just checked my model and its a Foxpro FX5 with TX2000 transmitter. This thing works great. I called a raccoon today and burned a few coyotes already this season. I bought it as a refurb from Foxpro for $250 IIRC. Looks brand new.
Could you guys please share how you're setting up for the 'Yotes? Where are you placing the decoys/caller in relation to your postion, etc...
Our farm is suddenly overrun with them and we need to cull this fall. Our deer herd has been hit hard the last 2 years.

I usually just place it around 30-50yds from my position. I don't put it in between me and the area I'm calling to. I try to put it off to the side a bit. Then start with about 2min or so of dying cottontail at medium volume and then sit for about 5mins. Then I'll fire it up again for a minute or so at same volume(or maybe a little lower). Then I'll sit for 10mins. After this point sometimes I'll fire the call up as loud as it will go for a couple mins and then sit for 10 more minutes. Sometimes I'll to coyote rabbit(the sound of a coyote killing a rabbit) for a minute.
I've been fooling around with interrogation and challenge calls lately. They seem to work better when its warmer out.
When hunting timber or fields bordering timber, I like to set the caller on a tree-stand platform to help the sound diffuse a little better off the trees. It also helps not having to worry about the caller being in your line-of-fire.
I hope to upgrade my home-brew rig to a FoxPro soon...

I use a Minaska ultimate one for coyote hunting. I use handcalls as well. I use one or both of these with a Mojo critter decoy. I'm waiting for the Mojo double trouble to come out, e caller and critter decoy in one.
