I didnt get any response on the pets section so maybe this is a better place to post this. I noticed some bloody tracks in my backyard going around the pool and walking across the patio tile this afternoon. I know its doesnt belong to our dog and the tracks dont look normal. It jumped the 5 foot wall and I tracked it going around the neighborhood. The tracks have a large stride and the "blood" doesnt seem to diminish. The same "paw" leaves the same pattern and doesnt change. There are some smaller spots that are on the same trail but this is the biggest one that stands out. Its roughly 2 x 2 inches and the 2 bottom spots are closer to each other than the ones on the top. What does this look like to you?

Jump a 5 foot rock wall, thats some jack rabbit. I followed this thing and after it got out of my yard it pretty much followed the cement sidewalk, cross the street and continue to follow the sidewalk till I lost the tracks. I just got to thinking what if it is a dog with a injured paw that was bandaged, still bleeding, and left some weird tracks?

That's why I asked. I've heard the rabbits are huge in Texas so I thought it may be a possibility. I've seen cottontails jump about two tp three feet high when startled.

I can't tell anything from your pic.

Maybe some scale direction of travel or maybe a better pic with more detail.

A 5 ft fence makes it just about a cat or arge dog.

Just a wild guess though.

Looks like BBQ sauce spilled on the floor.

If you ever watched CSI you'd know that BBQ sauce shows a distinct splatter, this is not BBQ sauce.
