We went out to kill some hogs off our deer feeders and when they didn't show up David put out his predator call. Hope yall enjoy it. This is our first predator hunting video we've put together.

It's amazing that thing didn't drop in its tracks. Some things just don't know they are dead when they are!

You're telling me, I couldn't believe it. It didn't even knock it off it's feet. I've never seen a coyote hit like that and it didn't drop with smaller stuff than a 6.8.

Nice coyote smack down video, probably difficult to get a bead on them due to all the heat wave mirages out there in Texas!

Good for you, we've been in the same boat here in Florida heat and rain wise as Texas, if we don't get a major tropical storm or hurricane to dump 15 inches of rain on us we won't be doing any duck hunting this year as we have for the last 35 years, since the lakes are all dry prairies......

Coyotes are tough critters - thanks for the video!

You need a bigger scope, though.

as tough a critter as they are that 6.8 probably just blew straight through not delivering enough shock to the CNS.

That's a pretty slick optic. I like the fact you can video out right to the recorder. Really slick for hunting videos.

That's David hunting, I'm not sure what ammo he's using. I know he buys it at Cheaper Than Dirt.

Good job!
What is that sight? Some sort of video recorder/scope? Does it have IR by any chance?

It's a Pulsar N550. Nightvision and IR.

Just sent you an IM on that scope. Had a couple questions. Thanks!

What is the actual realistic yardage range the Pulsar you have is good to at night? Do you have an IR light added to it? How well can you make out a yote, or bore, etc...... at the maximum range? What about eye glow detection at maximum range? What distance does that work too?

It depends on the amount of moon light. Without the IR and no moon you can pick something out at 150-200 yards. With a full moon we can spot hogs at 1000 yards or more. It comes with an onboard IR light and some come with an additional IR torch that mounts to the side.

So it come with an IR light, and you can buy another one to mount to the side?

On a dark night with no moon, and using the add on IR light to the side, what kind of range can you see then?

Do they make a ballistic drop reticle for .223 or any calibers that can be put in it?

Can animals make out the IR light at all?

Is it a pain to use in the day, or does it seem to work decent in the daytime?

Does the scope zoom, and how?

What recorder are you using with it for videos?

How does the ruggedness of it appear to be? Does it seem to hold up well to being packed around on a slinged gun?

Is it at all possible to have you record some video of it at night with an IR light on it and look at something 300 yards away in an environment with just moon light or no light at all?

Sorry for all the questions, but I am guessing a lot of guys here would be interested to know some of this stuff. Last weekend I missed probably 4 shots at night because I couldn't make the yotes out at 100 yards real well when I called them in. This scope has really got me interested, it seems decently priced, and appears to work well.

Yep

You can see for a long, long way but could probably only pick out a coyote sized animal at a couple hundred yards or so.

I don't think so

Can animals make out the IR light at all?

Only if they're wearing night vision goggles.

It works ok during the daytime, which is when this video was shot. I personally prefer a normal scope during the day if given the chance though.

Does the scope zoom, and how?

fixed 4.5x

What recorder are you using with it for videos?

For this video we were using a Canon XL2 but you can buy small recorders to use with it.

How does the ruggedness of it appear to be? Does it seem to hold up well to being packed around on a slinged gun?

Ours have been holding up well so far. We've got 4 of them being packed around on slinged rifles without any issues yet.

Is it at all possible to have you record some video of it at night with an IR light on it and look at something 300 yards away in an environment with just moon light or no light at all?

I can get some this weekend if I've got time.

Nice job on the yote...just get in the habit of putting the safety back on when coming out of "ready" position with the rifle. I know....but accidents happen.
