Anyone hunt anything with a high powered pellet gun? I've taken a couple of rabbits with my CO2 pistol.

I shoot pigeons and feral cats around my property with a Daisy Powerline pellet gun.

There is a lot of big time airgun hunting out there - Predator Extreme magazine has a monthly section on it, in fact. Google it - you'll be amazed at the .50 cal pellet guns and there are actually some great airgun manufacturers in Arizona.

That wouldn't happen to be a Crosman 760 Pumpmaster would it? I have the same one. I killed a coyote with it.

There are and used to be some BAD air rifles.
Lewis and Clark had them .
Napolean made their use punishable by DEATH.

Aye, that would be the one. Are you lurking in my back yard watching???? LOL

It works good up to about ten yards. Too bad the BSA red dot sight won't hold zero for shit.

Spring/barrel cock air guns are hard on most any scope.

.177, and it is true about springers being rough on scopes. That BSA scope in the pic had the reticle come loose.

I really like my Gamo hunter and it rocks on all small game.

My favorite was my old .22 Crossman 140 but they do not support them anymore and mine will not hold air anymore what a pitty it killed alot of vermin over the years. I kinda wish we could all own suppressors for real .22 rifles as they rule for vermin.

My son's first kill with a pellet gun.

He ate the breast for dinner later on.

Growing up I used pellets gun to kill rabbit and crows.

I have used it to kill ground hogs in the front yard also.

1)Gamo Varmint Hunter, 2)RWS/Hammerili 850 Airmagnum, or 3)Crosman Tac-1 Extreme

From Saturday's paper:

Starting this fall, firearms deer hunters will be allowed to use air-powered guns, .40-caliber or larger, charged only from an external high compression power source such as an external hand pump, air tank or air compressor. Before enacting this change, MDC staff members tested large-bore air rifles powered by compressed air and determined they were suitable for hunting deer.

Last year I got to assist some .gov guys with "pigeon eradication". They had Air Force Talon pellet guns. The stock is a tank that they refilled from a scuba tank. After refilling it was good for about 200-250 shots before it had to be refilled. No pumping! Just load a pellet and shoot. I think it was shooting about 1200 fps if I remember correctly. I may have shot one of them a few hundred times. They were hell on the pigeons! $$$$ though.

One of them had a different pellet rifle that was also refilled from the scuba tank. I don't remember what it was called but it had a round cylinder that held 8 (I think) pellets. This one was nice as you didn't have to pump or reload nearly as often.

You can hunt then in the grove I live on. Since we killed off the coyote's bobcats and foxes there are a crap load of them. Does a 17 hmr count as a pelet gun
