Filled my buck tag, very short gun season.
Well, I filled my gun deer buck tag opening weekend. I still have a bow tag but late season bow is not likely to happen for me so it may be another year before I get to take another deer.
Here is my 10 pointer. He is not a high scoring deer, but I am not complaining.

Excellent deer, I would be very happy if mine this year looks like that.
good job .. i see you have alittle snow on the ground ..
get the bow out enjoy

Good Buck! I am jealous.
Nothing to complain about, that's a beautiful deer. Hope I see something half that nice.
Nice buck.
I remember when I lived in mn and.could only shoot one deer a year.
Around here there is no daily limit and no season limit on Doe. Can shoot 3 bucks, but only two in a day.
Thanks guys, I hope you are all having successful seasons.
very nice 10! looks pretty symmetrical. He'd probably go on my wall.
congrats and good eating!
Congrats

Nice looking deer.
What were you using for a weapon?

Old faithful, my Remington 700 30-06 with a Leupold VXii 3-9x. I used Federal sierra game king 165 grain ammo and actually had my first round not go. It has a perfect primer strike. I worked the bolt and got him with the second round. I will be contacting federal about this problem next week some time.
I'm as big of a 700 fan as can be but one thing I have noticed is if the rifle sit for a long the first time the trigger is pulled the firing pin is sluggish. Have you ever disassembled the bolt ? I clean mine with gun scrubber let it dry then reassemble with NO oil. Did you try the round again to see if it would fire? Not saying it couldn't be the ammo just relaying some problems I have had with my 700's over the years.
I bought a box of new sealed factory Rem 17 ammo one round didn't have a primer didn't even have a flash hole.

I put 100 rounds through it in the last 3 months so I don't think that's the problem. I have cleaned it the same way since I have got it, using CLP and bore scrubber. I run it fairly dry and it has never given me a problem. I have not tried the round twice. I want to take some pictures of it and send them with a letter.
