Good looking deer! Why did they slice the face open on the first buck? tooth wear aging?

Yeah, I saw that. I'm not sure what's going on there I haven't talked to anybody about it yet, just got the pictures, but I can promise that they didn't screw up the cape cause it's going to get mounted. We have to pull half of the lower jaw when we're up hunting in Oklahoma and they end up looking like that. I don't know why they would have done that to that buck though.

Beautiful deer! I especially like the low wide one. That's right up my alley!

On a side note, managed ranches will often request to keep the bottom jaw of bucks taken to age them, and sometimes keep for their records.

We don't keep them, or ask people to leave them, but I do always check them to determine age.

You can have intensely managed land and still be low fenced with a free range herd.

Just wanted to throw that out there for those that think just because you manage your deer herd you gotta have 15' fences and collars on them.

Here's some more I just got. This one is from the Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge draw hunt.

Here's a friend with his 10 year old son and his buck.
