Gun season opens here tomorrow morning.

Truck is packed, and my son and I are headed to camp in about an hour. I'm on vacation this week and plan on hunting most of it. Dad is meeting us there this afternoon, so we will have 3 generations hunting together again this season.

My son James is going to try and get a deer with my grandfather's old Model 99 Savage, making him the 4th generation to take a deer with that particular rifle.

So, good luck, everyone!

Enjoy the time with your family! We used to have 3 generations hunting our land (rip gramps) i cant wait till my sons and daughter are old enough to hunt and have the three generations out there again! I took my 6 year old out last year to observe and he is dedinetly a future hunter!!

Nice.

Glad to see that others have a family style hunting camp.

I posted in a couple of other threads that we have family members come from all over for our annual gun trip.

Nobody realized it, until I was looking at a picture (annual group photo) from 2009, and said ..
"HEY.... Do you all realize we had 4 generations in camp last year? (13 yr old-87 yr old)
We had it for 2010 season also. Not sure we will make it this year due to medical reasons of the older generation.

We will definitely have 3 generations though.
Amazing when you have Grandpas, Grandmas,Great Uncles, Great Aunts, Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, Cousins, Nephews, Nieces and Great Friends in Camp. at some point, it becomes more about the family and not the actual hunt.

Going to do what I can to make sure my Nephew gets his first Buck this year.
Maybe this year I can save the Bean Field from getting killed, like he did last year.

I guess I am partially to blame, I told him if it is still moving, to keep shooting.
I must of left out the part about hitting him the first time.

I am 3 weeks away from the start of Gun Season. COME ON SNOW!!!!!!!!!!
