Leupold VX-I- Power Selector Ring is tough to turn!
I just bought a Leupold VX-I 3x9x40 scope from Cabelas last week. The power selector knob is pretty hard to turn (not easy to do while keeping my eye in the scope) Is this normal or does my scope sound defective?
I have a VX-I 2-7x33 scope on my .458 SOCOM AR. I bought it from Cabelas about two months ago. The power selection ring works hard just as you describe. Another Cabelas customer mentioned this same thing about his scope on a customer review posted for the model that I bought.
Send it to leupold after hunting season with the exact problem they will fix it.
It is a common problem with them.
I've got a VariXIII 6.5-20x40mm EFR scope that's hard as hell to turn, and a VX-III 4.5-14x40 that turns with almost perfect resistance on it. As stated previously, this is a common issue with them and if you are not happy, send the scope to them and they will resolve the issue.
Thanks for the replies. I will definitely be sending it back to Leupold after the season.
