Congrats! And inquiring minds want to know...how much more work/studying was involved taking the Gen test at the same time?

I used the tests from QRZ. I am very happy that I studied for both tests, I wish I would of put in some study time on extra.

Three weeks taking 3 tests a night. First week tech only tell I was hitting > 85%. Next two weeks was general test only, tell I was > 85%.

I was at the test location 1 hour, 30 minutes for tech and general 30 for extra ( I didn't study for it but still hit in the high 50%)

There was three other guys taking the tech test, two passed but failed general (they only studied for tech).

5 mile drive to the test.

I used my FRN # ,drivers license and Utah Concealed firearms permit for ID. One of the three examiners said he liked my Utah permit, then the second one said that he DID NOT LIKE IT. (anti gun) They spent the next 30 minutes arguing about guns wile I took the tests.

I am a electrician with a lot of electronics experience and that helped with the test.

They said they had 100 different tests, "so don't cheat". I know all ours where different.

Thats funny stuff right there. And true. I think you'll find the pro/anti ratio is about 50/50, maybe leaning a bit anti in the ham community.
Thanks for the data also. Get your Extra and never have to take another test or worry about if you are "in band segment" again.

That is changing rapidly because there are an awful lot of preppers getting ham tickets. The old guys hate 'em but the truth is, without them ham radio would be dying off right now.

Are you a resident of Washington? If so, do you also have a Washington CPL?
