So here is the contest...
April Homebrew Shootout
Here are the rules.
1 must be related to ham radio in one way or another
2 must be posted her in a new thread (some people can discuss it)
3 must post a link in this thread to your thread. I will update it to the op.
4 deadline is May 1st 2012
5 scoring will be by popular vote
6 an additional quarter of a point will be given for each day finished before May 1st. Vote will be all day on the 1st the winner will be named on May 2nd
7 project cannot be started before today April 2nd 2012
So i know what your thinking. What's in it for you?
I have an extra storm case with modular padded velcro interior. The winner gets it far and square to your door in the lower 48.

I have a feeling there will be some sandbagger come along and post a homebrew DC to daylight, 1500 Watt transciever that fits in a cigar box. Just my luck.

I had a big plan, but too many other projects and too many days at work to do it. I did home brew a little adapter from the junk box, I will post it so KB7 is not alone, but I would vote for his over my simple little device.

Well what are these other projects? Did you ever get your 2m SSB antenna up that would count. Plus if you don't have it up it would be incentive to do it.

Last week I "re-purposed" some old Li-ion laptop battery packs for use with my TenTec HB-1B QRP radio. Would that count?

Of course it would. It would also be neat if you could get some detailed usage numbers!

I pounded a ground rod through my basement floor. That's about the extent of my ham projects lately.
although there is still that "running coax through a chimney" project that I need to do one of these days....
