I'm still waiting on my rigblaster to come in the mail tomorrow with my ldg 817 tuner. I have a small netbook running ubuntu. Are there any programs similar to ham radio deluxe for linux out there? I'm interested in cat control for my 817 and something that can be used in conjunction with the rigblaster to run psk31.

FLdigi is what you want. Does almost every mode except packet. (If you want packet, use a driver called soundmodem.)

Although I haven't used it, Fldigi works with Linux.

You can read about it and download it from here: W1HKJ Software (Fldigi)

I believe there are at least a couple of folks on here that use it and will probably be along shortly to offer you more help than I can

Fldigi isn't HRD & DM780, but it works well and will get the job done under Linux. Once you create some macros and get your logging setup it will do just fine for most applications.

See also Flrig. It is a companion program to Fldigi that provides expanded rig control on Linux. Again, not HRD/DM780, but eminently serviceable for you Linux types.

Note that I use a combination of HRD & Fldigi on Windows. I like HRD and prefer the simplicity of Fldigi over DM780. The alpha version of Fldigi now supports eQSL.
