I'm making the switch to a baitcaster from my lifelong use of spinning reels. I'll never give up the spinning reel but want to start using a baitcaster.
I've been reading a lot of info and have been very interested in the Shimano Citica 200E
. I was going to go with a Bass Pro model but there is quite a bit of negative info on them and many people say to stay away from the "retailer brand" reels and stick with Shimano, Abu, Pflueger etc.
Just wondering if anyone has experience with this reel and how they like it compared to others. I'm only looking to spend between $100 and $150 for a reel. No need for me to have a $200 or up reel...i'm only a weekend fisherman....no tournaments for me. It has gotten very good reviews and was given "Editor's Choice" by TackleTour.com. The review can be found here: Tackle Tour Citica 200E
I sell em, you will love it. I suggest you start with all the brakes on and the spool tention to where you have to bounce your lure to get line to come out.
There are some great youtube how-to's for baitcasting as well as getting out the backlashes.
