Have 2 full grown roosters (1 full game, 1 half game half white plymouth rock), 3 mature hens belonging between the 2 roosters, and 6 pullets still a few months away from laying. I had a 3rd younger rooster (we suspect) but we're not too sure. Its a young sibling to the half game half white rock rooster and looks very similar but no comb as of yet, nor spurs.

Anyways it died in the door way between the roost and outside fenced area the night of a major thunder storm. It has a few dirty spots on it but no blood or obvious signs of wounds or trauma. My neighbor who gave me all my chickens and has a bunch (raised them for years) suspects it died of a heart attack being too frightened by the thunder and lightening. Shes had a hen die of a heart attack/stroke from being chased by a dog. It never touched her but she fell over shortly after the chase.

Thoughts?

I would add Teramycin to the water for two weeks, just in case.
