wait and spend a little more. Fenix is my favorite light by a long shot. prices are about double give or take of that cheap light you linked to. check out candlepowerforums.com for flashlight info overload.

What models work well? I have a bunch of 123 batteries, so I was looking at a light that used them. $50 is about the most I am willing to spend. Is there a Fenix that I could mounton my AR15?

Thanks for the input....

I'd avoid the site you linked - looks kinda fly by nite. And the Q5 emitter does not put out 300 lumens so they're liars from the start.

If you want cheap, try deal extreme. The Q5 isn't a bad emitter, but there are better ones out now. Look for an XM-LT6, XPG-R5 or an SSC-P7 emitter.

Q5 is a bin, or grade of cree xre emitter. It's not even close to 300 lumens. If I were shopping for a 123 powered 300 lumen+ led light, I'd be looking at jetbeams from bugoutusa, with a arfcom discount, a fenix, or better yet, a 4 sevens quark. $50 will get you regulated output, a cree xml emitter and 500+ lumens if you shop around.

There are a bunch of cheap flashlights out there that actually work a lot better than one might expect.

Having said that, my track record of late with really cheap flashlights is not as good as I would like.

Fenix TK11 FTW. I have 3 of them. 2 mounted and 1 I have abused daily for the last 3 yrs or so. They should be around the 50.00 mark. You won't be disappointed with this light.

How did you mount it to your AR? I have a couple railed AR's and want to mount them. I've never had one on a rifle before..
