Check out the new Ruger 10/22 Takedown - I know now what my next gun purchase will be!
See:

I would want a threaded barrel on there but other then that issue I see this as a great pack survival rifle and perhaps a better investment then the 22 Encore barrel I have been searching for? Certainly looks like an enhancement to my personal favorite SHTF 22lr!
That is awesome, I would love to have one as well!
Very nice! I just sent the link to my wife. Hint Hint.....lol
Will buy...
Thanks for the heads up. I justed added it to my list of must buy items.

And I see this now that Ruger announced the "Not accepting orders," story comes out!!!!!!!!
I'll be in my bunk.
I just tried to find a source with no luck...
Must have!!!
I just come over here to post about this.
I agree that a threaded version would be prefered, but I can make this work. Had planned on a threaded 22/45 this summer, but this will probably top that.
I like that.
Yep, I want one. Would prefer a threaded barrel but I can have that fixed.
browning, remington, and im sure a few others, have already done this...

I have a marlin papoose which is a neat little package. But the Ruger looks more substantial and i like that there is an actual forend.
Hmmmm...I have a spare folding stock in the war room. Wonder what kind of mods it would take to make that work, would be really compact and useable for me.
Wish it had a 16" barrel and folding stock.
I make one demand of Ruger. Produce me a takedown PC9. I want one of these 10/22s, but a PC9 would a nice match to my P95.
The accuracy is pretty impressive. I might have to pick one up. I would really like a 16" factory countour version.
will HAVE to get atleast one of these....

I noticed that too.
In fact, I've never seen a factory standard barrel 10/22 shoot that well out of the box. If you’re doing 1-1.5 at 50yds, consider yourself lucky.
Anyone find any in stock??

He probably got a "tuned and prepped" gun for the article.
Regardless, that is a very nice design.
It is definitely based on the old Mauser take-down rifles made by the British in the early 1900's.
Also, the knurled adjustment collar is pure John Browning SA-22.
Needs a folding stock.
So I have one coming in, where should I send it to have it threaded?

I would recomend Que (one of the favorites over at Rimfire Central). If you are looking for a straight threading, without replacing the front sight, then you could to anywhere like the pros at ADCO, but if you are wanting to have your sight moved back to go with Que.

Makes it even shorter
This rifle with the barrel cut and threaded with a shroud to allow can ussage and still retain the NON sbr status... Then add a QD small optic.
would be wonderful.
pack it in a light floatable case. sweet
The AGP stock would work well for that I figure.
I want one too, I have been thinking about getting a 10-22, but this is perfect, I can pack it in the box I have in my Jeep. I have an AR-7, one of the origionals, I love it, but the Ruger is stronger. And for .22 the interrupted thread is fine, there are some centerfire rifles with it, so for .22 it is solid.
I got one today for $325 with tax. Very slick & nice rifle.
