I have read over and over how UV does nothing in these small devices. Seems really gimmicky.

Where did you read that...? I don't personally care for Steripens, but I know people that have been using them for years and never gotten sick.

Ya know most filters say that not all viruses will be filtered out seeing as how they can be down to .1 micron so why not filter your water normally into this and then run the UV

to kill the viruses and any thing extra, Just seems to be double safe and the UV device wont take up that much room. It also adds a second layer of filtering options for all

them 2 is 1 rules.

Huh? Municipalities have been using UV for a long time to kill stuff in water. UV works great as long as the water is relatively clear. It is light, so the light has to be able to reach the nastiness.

I don't use them myself, but they have been repeatedly tested to work just fine and meet EPA water purification standards.

Dude,

You have read wrong. It is proven science.

It has its limitations, but it is proven.
