want a handle sewn on to my maxped bag in foliage green, ideas ??
the actice shooter bag comes with a shoulder strap but no grab handle,
maxped sells no parts
any ideas on where to get a foliage webbing piece and get it sewn on??
Thanks
Tactical tailor can do it. Unless you live closer to another gear manufacturer, then they may be able to do it and you not having to ship it.
If you can find the webbing most shoe repair shops have heavy enough sewing machines to sew it.
You can get webbing from lots of places––i get small pieces from REI locally.

My local dry cleaner also has a clothing repair shop with a heavy duty sewing machine, you should try your local dry cleaners as well.
do you have any other packs/cargo bags you can cannibalize? You could even sew it yourself by hand.
Head down to the surplus store and pick up a duffel bag or sea bag. Carefully remove the carry handle and use that. The duffel will still be serviceable, you can carry it by hand from the shoulder straps.
We've got a small alterations/shoe repair shop around the corner run by a French (or maybe Belgian) family and they've repaired everything from sleeping bags and packs, to zippers and prom dresses (for my daughter) They're very inexpensive and do great work. The daughter does the fine fabric stuff, and her dad does the shoe/leather/heavy duty work. They have no problem doing custom stuff, or modifying stuff to my specs. They've done shoes for us as well, but had problems with my winter hiking boots... couldn't find midsoles big enough during resoling. I found a little shoe repair place the next town over run by a gruff old Russian guy that knocked out that repair in 24 hours.
All very reasonably priced and pretty darned fast.
I can't imagine installing a handle costing more than $10 or taking very long.

Check at a local outdoor store, like REI, they usually have the name and number of a few people that do work on gear.

If this is your bag:
http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/ACTIVE-SHOOTER-BAG-PALS-FRONT-13p1136.htm , then you don't need to sew anything.
You apparently have a few rows of PALS webbing on the sides of the bag. Just get some 1" wide nylon webbing, and two 1" tri-glides. Slip the tri-glides onto the webbing first. Next, slip the ends of the webbing through the PALS webbing on the sides, as close to the center of the bag as possible. Take the loose end of the strap, and thread it back through the buckle, leaving about 2" of webbing excess. Backthread excess back through buckle, locking everything down. This should take you only a couple of minutes, and the materials will be pretty cheap.
You can get the right color webbing from
www.strapworks.com, and black tri-glides also. Buy the thick military webbing. If you want foliage (or any other tactical) color tri-glides, get 'em at
www.supplycaptain.com. IMHO, you might want to use black webbing for the handle, because if the color of the handle fabric closely matches that of the bag, the handle might be a little hard to find and quickly grab, especially in low light. Visit both sites, and have a look around, especially at clearance section of SC.
I added a cobra knot handle to my Jumbo,
that was pre-grab handle. I added a couple
of metal grommets behind the front pouch &
in the watter bottle pouch to anchor it to the
bag. It still worls great after 2 years of EDC.
Cheap, easy & effective.
Be safe!
