I have several stashed in some smaller kits and I have one with me here in Afghanistan in my little E&E kit. It’s a good little product but it does have some limitations you need to be aware of. It’s a one-time filter…once you reach the output capacity it’s a throw-away. I’ve used two in the past and one is still back home in my day-hiking kit bag. Some nice features are that it will screw onto regular soda/water bottles, the USGI plastic flask and even Nalgene’s flask. It will also work as a gravity filter, but it doesn’t work fast. I can say the unit is robust and built for rough use. As a compact kit or backup, it’s a good little filter.
