Bought a Klarus XT10 flashlight... OMG. It's amazing!

I'm using it as a weapon light on my AR15, via a VLTOR light mount.

470 lumens on HIGH, 2 hour run time.

150 lumens on MEDIUM, 7 hour run time.

10 lumen LOW setting, 12 DAY run time.

Plus a strobe setting.

It's roughly the size of a Surefire U2.

I got it from goinggear.com

Edit - $80

Same here. A dedicated strobe button on the rear of the light sounds good. No fussing with all the modes to find strobe.
Nice and bright, how would you describe the build quality?

Just ordered a single mode Thrunite XM-L P60 drop-in for my G2 Nitrolon as my EDC light. We'll see how it does with heat dissipation as it is supposed to put out at least 460L OTF @ 1.5A, not at the emitter.

The lumens output, dual switch for simplicity and price sold me on it.

It's built as well as any Surefire I've ever owned. (And I've owned dozens of them.)

I'll be ordering another to put on my SBR, and maybe even a third for my 870.

ALSO, I'm getting two different AA models (one for me and one for my wife) and two AAA models for our keyrings.

I'm totally sold on the brand.

The XT10 is my favorite dual switch light. The buttons are so easy to find in the dark and are easily differentiated because of their different height, size, and shape. They wanted to give it mode memory, but thankfully they took my advice and made it high first always.

They have some new lights about to be announced that are pretty sweet too. They will be mini versions of the XT10, with different battery types, like the NT/ST lights.

Hey Bassman2. Since we just got a new website a couple of weeks ago, we are still working out some of the kinks, and some customers are still having trouble with the carts, but we are still working on it so NO ONE has trouble. Feel free to give the shop a call, we can take your order over the phone fast and easy. The GGARF10 code will still work as well if you mention it ;)

Can you give me an idea how much the P1A goes for? I've been looking for a AA EDC light that can survive me .

Can the XT10 survive the recoil of an AK or shotgun?

Here is the link to the light, we sell it for $38.95, and remember, you guys are hooked up with a sweet code!

Klarus P1A

As far as the XT10 is concerned with recoil, it is designed to take it on. I have had one on my AR for awhile and seems to not have a problem. I know a shotgun or AK have a considerable amount more recoil, but I can see the XT10 holding up well.

Thanks for the info. For that price and size I think I will give it a try. Currently have an incandescent G2, and it's like carrying a roll of quarters in my pocket. 123's aren't cheap either.

Personal opinion here. Strobe is a great feature on a handheld light but is not a great idea on a weapon mounted light as a general rule. Also, 470 lumens is too much for inside an average building. You'll get a lot of splashback on light colored walls and blind yourself. On the other hand, outside or clearing a large warehouse it would be nice to have. The 150 lumens would be ideal for clearing the average building.

Looks like a really nice light though.

I bought an XT20 from Going Gear about a month ago.

Good service, good price and a very nice light, that produces a HUGE wall of light. The switching is genius if it holds up, fit and finish exceed that of any other light I've ever owned which includes some pretty spendy ones.

Klarus is making a very nice product and G G, is the place to buy them. Thanks guys.

Out of curiosity, what made you go for the P1A (150 lumens max) over the P1C (245 lumens max)? Weird that they are both $38.95 @ Going Gear. I must be missing something obvious.

I was mainly looking for a small AA EDC light I can throw in my pocket with other stuff. CR123 is nice, but not as cheap and available as AA.

I have 2 Surefires that run on them for tactical lights, and they are great for that application.

They look like they are comparable in size, but the P1C shorter in length. I am torn between the two. Totally agree with you on the cost of the CR123's but the gain in lumens has me perplexed.

I'm looking at doing the same thing.

I'm making a conscious decision to move AWAY from CR123s.

For a EDC light 150 lumens is VERY bright.

Both battery types have advantages.

AA- Easily available, cheap, flashlight has potential to be narrower, often easy to use rechargeables.

123- Generally gives brightness of 2AA lights in a package shorter than 1AA, lighter weight than AA, nobody steals batterys for use in other equipment....

If you use(not just carry) the light often, go AA. If you use it less than say, 15mins/day, go w/ 123s. Just buy 12 123s when you buy the light, and you will be set for a loooong time to come. If you use it like a worklight, or leave it on to walk the dog, etc. then get some eneloops and a smart charger. The low voltage won't keep the light real bright for long, but lets it work well for a while, and then you can swap out a new batt.

My personal preference is 1AA lights as mentioned, or else skip to 2-123 lights, as they are only a bit longer, and can sit in pants pockets better than a short stubby light.

-edit- once you get up over 100 lumens or so, it takes big #s to make a difference. 100ish will be great if you get the right beam profile for your activities, and often you will use the lower settings anyway. If you need to see farther, lumens help, but a tighter beam can help more, I think. My last lights though were new 1 1/2 years ago though, so what do I know...

Got home to my little gift to myself waiting for me, dropped it into my G2 and it is WAY brighter than the G2 incan bulb obviously, and also much brighter with a bigger hotspot than my TLR-1s.

It does not allow the bezel to screw down completely on the body anymore, not sure without hassling with it if that can be modified or not, but we're talking 1.5mm of a gap, so the o-ring is still sealing. The light also seems to have a slight green tint compared to the purplish TLR-1s. The hue of each may be influencing my opinion of the other however.

I'm very happy with the purchase, I hated how dim the G2 was, and how quickly it ate through batteries, now I have a simple, tough little light that throws out a ton of light and lasts much longer on a set of lithiums.

Couple more pix.

Notice how the VLTOR offset mount puts the light high enough so that my right thumb can access the light when I've switched shoulders for "barricade right" movement.

How much is the XT10 with the discount code?

If I have a warranty claim do I deal with Going Gear or the manufacturer?

What is a comparable Fenix model?

Damn you guys, making me spend more money. Got the XT10 and the ED10 remote pressure switch from Goinggear today. I've been waiting for a pressure switch with the constant on option that was more affordable than the Surefire version. Time will tell how well it holds up, but it sure looks good right now. The 4Sevens Maelstrom G5 that was on my rifle will be my truck light now. I love the fact that all these quality lights are available now at good prices. I love Surefire, but their prices keep going up, while other quality lights keep hitting the market at a price level more people can afford. I know time will be the true test of these other brands quality and durability, but my experience with the 4 Sevens have been great so far. I'm expecting the same from the Klarus.

What is a comparable Fenix model? TK21 maybe? But only 280 lumens versus the Klarus' 470, for virtually the same price.
