Is it possible to put together 4 quality BOBs for the family with equipment? all matching bags and gear, such as bags, sleeping gear, first aid and what not. Last year i started to standardize my other equipment and now its time to do the same with the family bug out gear/camping gear. any one do this type of thing with input on gear? I am finding it very difficult to have all this mismatched and peiced together equipment. I really want to just be able to order 4 bags, 4 sleeping setups, 4 firstaid kits and then personalize each bag to the end users needs. Does this make sence?

Makes perfect since, and with 1,200 bucks pretty darn doable. Especially this time of year, since the better cold weather gear can get pretty pricey. Look at these bags, I have some of there stuff and am pretty happy with it.

$300 per bag? If you aren't buying top of the line, ultralight backpacking gear, you should easily be able to do it. I think I'm about $500 into mine and my wife's BOB's, and I have some nice gear that can double for backpacking trips.

packs are like shoe's. each persons torso is different.
go with a standard pack that fits all your torso's and you should be fine.
Or stick with surplus.
Will you use these packs or are the gonna be dust bunnie collectors in the closet?

These will be our familys camping gear, used several times a year. but will always be geared up and ready to get out of dodge if need be.

How old are the kids? Are they big enough to carry their own gear in full-sized packs? Be honest with yourself here... If they are not then you need to rethink the approach.

If so then $1200 is plenty for 4 generic customizable setups as long as you aren't looking at the higher end camping gear or trying to go ultralight.
