Was out with the family on Labor Day at Lake Livingston,tx and snaped a pic of some of the boats around us.

I needed some sun

The only way the wife would let me put a pic of her on the internet

Labor day weekend and 4th of July weekend are the blackout weekends for me.

I find something else to do besides be on the lake. Especially if the weather is nice.

Although watching the local free public dock is hilarious on those days. Half the people have no clue how to launch or retrieve a boat and hilarity ensues.

I'm assuming the boat your wife is on is yours....Nice vessel!!

- ditto
While watching stupid people is entertaining...it becomes an annoyance when they come over to the shop because their boat won't start and you see the safety lanyard laying on the floor..

I've had my fair share of 'idiot moments' on the docks...

One in particular was one of my very first times putting in by myself(well, my girlfriend was there, but no one that knew what they were doing), i got the boat all loaded and ready in the staging area(even though there was no one at the launch) and pull up, back in, get out undo the winch strap and it won'g come off the trailer....

So i back up as far as i can keeping the wheels out of the water, it still won't come off the trailer.

Then it hits me....

I was so busy putting stuff in the boat and double checking the plug, i forgot to take the straps from the transom to the trailer off...

What can ya do besides learn from it....at least i didn't hold anyone up, the launch was pretty dead at that point.

loading and unloading by yourself is sometimes better than haveing someone who help. Had a buddy go with me one day and as I drop the boat in the water and go park i'm thinking that went easy. Came back to the dock and my boat is 60 yards out in the lake. Buudy didn't hold the bow rope. Needless to say I made him go get it.

So....this guy didn't know enough about boating to hold on to the bow line, yet you want him to go get in your boat and drive it back to the dock?

Or was it a grab the bow line and drag it back to the dock deal? Because i definitely would have done this.
