I have a extra AR and pistol laying around that I haven't shot much. Should I sell them to buy a used nice little fishing boat.
At least my boating accident will be useful

I would pass and look for something like a used Lund Rebel and a 25 or 30hp motor.

Looks like my old boat. It was a '73, with the same motor. Ran decent but a tri-hull handles for shit.
With that trailer you are going to have back half your truck in the water to get the boat off.

For the type of water around here I would rather have an aluminum flat bottom boat.

I have 16ft Lund Explorer (1993 model, similar to todays Lund Rebel) and it's a great fishing boat. I have a 30hp on it and don't feel like I need anything more powerful.

That boat looks old and heavy, too much work to load and unload probably, and not really an ideal fishing boat.

Just my opinion, take it fwiw.

That's a great motor. I had a boat with the Evinrude version of this motor. Easiest starting outboard I've ever seen, and very easy on gas.

My concern would be if it's enough motor for that boat.

In general, a boat is a giant money pit. But if you plan to use it a LOT, like nearl every weekend, it can be a good investment.
