Quick and Easy Hook Keeper
Many salt water rods do not come with a keeper for your hooks. Using the rod guides is hit or miss. You risk cracking the ceramic in the guide or scratching up your rod if you use the guide frame or foot.
I got a tip from the bait shop the other day that works great. Get those zip ties from the electrical section at Lowes or HD that have the eyelet for a screw. Zip tie to the rod just above the reel seat and you have a great hook keeper!
