Opening day for grouper in Tampa Bay

Opening day for grouper around here after the crapiest winter iv'e seen in my 45 years here. Put 16 1n the boat, 7 keepers from 22 to 30 ins. These are my cut, someone gave me the 22 in ,but a 26 & a29 in. All from trolling, all gags . Water temp was 67 degs.

Four of us limited out - live pinfish in 40-45'.

We went diving for the opener (spearing). We saw tons of Gags and more American Red Snapper than you can swing a stick at. (Big ones too, 15-30lbs in many cases, not the little 6-8lbers).
I limited out on pretty much everything except AJs and Mangrove Snapper within 2 dives. We also got some pretty fat red grouper as well.

Brings back memories. Lived in St Pete for 3 years.
Those are some fine looking fish there.
