Went out this morning with jjc155 from the forums as well as my Dad. We put in at Bolles Harbor and made the 4 mile run to the dumping grounds in order to start our first drift. The wind was perfect all morning for drift fishing, didn't have to put a drift sock out until lunch time. Had 4 walleyes ranging from 18" to 23" in the boat within the first 30 minute drift. Thought it was going to be on fire but, alas, it wasn't to be. Only caught 1 more walleye the rest of the day for a total of 5 in the box. 4 of the 5 came on erie dearies tipped with a crawler and the last one was caught on a crawler harness. Great day on the water. Pic of 4, my Dad was measuring, weighing, and collecting scales from the one not in the picture to send to the State. He voluntarily keeps track of all walleye caught and submits scale samples and other information to help the State keep track of what is going on. He's retired and has time for it -

Awesome...usually make a trip up there once a year fishing with a buddy. He has a boat @ Beavercreek in Vermillion. Alot of fun.

They where killing them here last week. I have a buddy that runs a head boat, they came back in at noon with 80 fish.

My buddy (another arfcommer) and I have not had any luck with walleye on the lake. It might be because we don't know what we're doing, but I am jealous.

We just visited from St. Louis...went out of Port Clinton. 12 of us went up the day after trophy season. It was my first time but had a hell of a good one.

Largest was 28 inches. We were short our limit the second day. Kind of weird fishing right off shore of a nuclear plant (even if it wasn't running at the time)

Real early and real late in the season when the water is cold fishing near the nuclear plants can pay big dividends. They discharge warm water that was used to cool the reactor - it will sometimes congregate the fish in and around the discharge pipe.

My Son and I went out a couple weeks ago, left out of Lorain and had a great trip. I thought the weather was going to do us in but we were able to salvage the day nicely due to a great skipper. I caught my biggest Walleye to date(been going out since 78) fish was 28" long and a tad better than 8lbs my Son caught a 6 pounder a few minutes later. Most of our fish were caught trolling cranks.
