The thread about the fishing tactics/most rewarding has had me thinking about doing some bluegill fishing. I went tonight after dinner and hit it pretty good. I tend to forget every year about how much fun can be had with just a simple style of fishing. I really enjoy fishing the rivers around here for steelhead, but I wouldn't say it's as relaxing as this.
Just so everyone knows, I threw back every female. These here are just males. The shortest one here is 8", and the perch is a 13 incher. For everyone I kept, I'd say I threw back at least three more of the same size. It's hard to get an idea of size, so I held the perch up to a tape for reference.
Can't wait to get them in the fryer.

Do you have mercury problems in your neck of the woods?
Can't eat nearly nothin around here.

Just up at the lake. I caught these at a friend of mine's 12 acre pond.
Are you in Ohio?
