Looking for suggestions for ultralight one person tent.
I need suggestions for a one person ultralight tent for backpacking and bicycle camping. I am leaning toward the Mountain Hardware Sprite 1. I'm not looking for the cheapest tent available but want a good one. Of course cost will be a factor. I found that Campmor has a good price on the Sprite 1.
I have looked at the cheap Eureka Solitaire but think the Sprite 1 is well worth the extra cost. Any other ideas will be appreciated.
All my backpacking tents are Eureka. I think they are among the best made. The one I'm using right now because of its low profile and light weight is the 'Eureka Back Country'.
I have the
EMS Velocity 1. Awesome tent. Light, freestanding, easy to set-up and very roomy.
snugpak, I believe the Ionosphere is the 1 person tent they make.
this.

That looks like something I could use. Will have to look at that one more.
I wish I knew someone who had one and I could see it in person. Would love to quit carrying my 5 lb 2 man tent. Way too big and heavy.
I have a Gossamer Gear "The One" tent. Google it, Ultralight (16oz) and durable.
Tarptent rainbow, plenty of room, only weighs about 2lbs.
I am considering a hammock for solo trips

And you want a one person tent if you're not alone?
Heavy enough?
Try something like ...
Six moon designs
One model ... at 13 ounces.

When i backpack the AT, i use the Big Agnes Fly Creek 1
I am a big fan of the Kifaru Paratipi. 3 1/2 lbs during the summer, and a stove during the winter. Very spacious for a one person shelter, and bombproof.
Not the cheapest.
Doc
When I go solo, I bring a bivey bag instead of a tent.
It sucks it a long downpour though.
I tested out a prototype of the Nemo Gogo-Ex single person tent for work and have several spares. The ones I have are 1st generation protos without the rain cover. I carry a tarp for mine and use that. The end product wound up being $330. If you look it up and are interested I can get you one for $100. If you can't find it on-line, can set mine up and send pics. Its a great tent, sets up in about 3 min, light weight, roomy. I'M if interested.
