I’m looking for a nice pair of “softshell” pants for hiking in cold weather. Something that is breathable, moisture wicking, but still fairly water resistant. I’ve been looking around and some of the stuff that Mountain Hardware, North Face, Arcteryx, and Marmot makes….and the different types and style they make are just about never ending. I don’t really want to spend $150+ on a pair of pants, but I will if that’s the only option.

What’s the best deal on softshell hiking pants? I would like to have to pockets in them, and some of the “convertible” ones that can have the legs unzipped and turned into shorts would be nice.

Any suggestions??

I bought a pair from bass pro . Simular to these
Pants

I used them to climb Mt. Fuji. It was raining and sheeting, crazy wind on the way up. They dried very quick. Only problem I had was I had to cut the liner out of them.

If you're military you can join Mountain Hardwear or Northface's Pro Pricing Program.

I'm not allowed to reveal the prices or discount, but let's just say, they're GOOD.
