strike anywhere matches- can I get a case or two?
Seems these matches are getting harder to come by. I bet they would make great stocking stuffers, but I just don't know where to get a case or three.
Must be the Legal Eagles are at it again.
If you know how to get what I want on line for a good price, please post!
Thanks.
My local REI sells them, however I didn't see them listed on their website for sale.

Some states have banned them. If you are in a libtard state like me, they may be banned. Try going to a camping store in a neighboring state. That is what I have to do to get mine.
The green tip strike anywheres?
Hell, I bought a case for like 5 bucks in VA at a surplus store.
Cabelas usually has em, Im sure Bass Pro Shop and other stores like it will carry them too. (If legal in your state like posted above)
I saw them at a Dollar Tree or some dollar store before. I think it was Dollar Tree.
If I remember right, I think I got some at Walmart...
I think...
Walmart, Ace Hardware, Publix.
be careful buying large amounts of strike anywhere matches. Surely will get you on a list. (these matches are used or could be used in manufacturing meth.

It's not the matches themselves, it's the red phosphorus on the striker plates that's used in one way making meth. Red P strikers are used on more matches than just the strike anywhere variety.
I recently picked up some at an Army/Navy surplus store to add to my stash. I used my food saver and packed up 2 cases/48 boxes of them and put them in my food storage. I don't know about their use in drugs but I do know they are getting harder to find
I bought some last year online (eBay, I think). Six boxes of 500 for about six dollars, IIRC.

IIRC, some kinds of matches cannot be easily shipped due to HazMat regulations. They may not put them on their website because they can't ship them, or they would have to add the HazMat fee, and don't want the hassle.
Being as a butane lighter works every bit as well, I do not plan on hoarding matches. In any case, they are not something I would want a bunch of laying around.
I bought a few boxes of the Diamond brand white tip matches a few years ago and they're worthless as far as being "strike anywhere" IMO. In fact if you don't strike them on the side of the box you might as well forget it.
I seam to remember strike anywhere matches having a much larger tip on them when I was a kid, that was before Carter was President that I was a kid though!
After seeing this thread, I was able to find a few boxes at the local ACE. I did not open them to see if they were different from years ago.
Banned in some states? What happened to the Commerce Clause in the Constitution?
why on earth are you guys still talking about matches? bic lighters do the same job for about the same money, or cheaper. if you get 'em wet, and then dry 'em out, you can still use 'em. get matches wet and they're done. get the outdoorsman a bag of bic lighters.
do what you want. my $0.02.

County com sells the hurricane matches, they had some that were strike anywhere.

+1 I bought the same stuff last weekend. They suck the proverbial balls.
if anyone is interested on how to add a little ... " pep " to the green tip matches to make them set off on anyhting a little easier, go to youtube and/or google it .. the wet mix can be made easily with fairly easy to find chemicals, you dip the existing matches in the dip, put up to dry, and once dry the set off MUCH easier ...
although its a PITA if you are making any more than a couple dozen .. just be careful, the modified matches can be very sensative depending on your mix ..
i take no responsibility in anyones actions ... maker beware ..
I bought this the other day at Ace Hardware!
To put in the car. (From another post)
Diamond Greenlight
They where only
twenty cents a box plus taxes
