Sorry maybe this is more for venting or maybe I'll get lucky and get some help. I've been out of the Army National Guard now for about 7 years. Well when I was going to school before I would just hand in my schedule to the lady in the office at my school and then I would have my tuition paid for and get a little bit of cash in the bank a little later like magic yay! Well a few years ago, some semesters classes I needed weren't offered or weren't at a time I could get out of work, they would ask me if I wanted my GI bill since I was activated in a combat zone after 9/11 and I would say sure if I can get it. Well of course nothing ever would happen and when I would try to contact the new woman, who is never in her office but I have seen her with her nice pic of her and Obama, they take a message for me saying that they will have her look into it. Of course this semester I finally get her in her office and she tells me that I have to call the VA myself and verify my enrollment for that. Ok that's fine why wasn't I told this before! So today I try to call the number she gave me and I get so far in and all the sudden the touch tones just quit working and it hangs up on me.

Like i said this is more of a rant and I'm sorry if I typed it out and it makes little sense as I am doing it on my break at work and venting.

When dealing with GI Bill stuff, find out clearly what exactly the standards are, have them verified by the VA and then take responsibility for every step that you can sooner rather than later. I unfortunately never got around to submitting my enrollement info to the VA until the begining of the semester and now won't likely be paid for another two months. Good thing I was smart enough to marry a sugar mama and go to a very veteran friendly school that will patiently wait on their payment.

Not really sure what you're asking. Yes, you have to verify monthly enrollment. I do it online. I've never really had any issues with my GI bill. My school sends in my stuff each time I register and then I verify monthly.

Well I tried doing the verifying over the phone and get so far then it won't let me hit the number 2 to confirm my choice and just disconnects. So I tried going to the website and I put in my information to log in and it tells me that it isn't correct.

Let me see if I can help.

I know the Buffalo Regional office handles all GI Bill related question and problems. You can reach them at 1-888-442-4551 or directly at 1-716-857-3196 or 3197 and choose option "1". If you want I can try and locate a real person to speak with there.

Im sure you tried this website as well... GI Bill

Ya sorry I got it. Tried the one and it said it was a shut down number and that I needed to call the regular 888 number. Going to try the VA services guy when I get a chance also.

iris

See if you can get help on that site, I believe they will response via email within 5 working days or something along those lines.

I just spoke with a VocRehab guy about the Buffalo office and we do not have any contacts for them on a personal level.

Sorry if that doesnt help, I just dont handle any education type claims.

If you have any VA specific questions or problems, shoot me a PM and I can give you my number and get you some help.
