 WOFT in the Guard?

I have recently put my packet in for active duty and received a fully qualified not selected status. I have been told that since I already have a completed packet that I can apply for the National Guard and would have a really good chance at getting selected. The thing is I just don't know how to go about doing this. I live in a crap town and the guard unit here is in transportation. I have talked to a guard recruiter but she told me that the Guard does not have helicopter pilots. If anyone has any suggestions on what I could do or someone to contact to help me get things going I would be very appreciative.

The WO recruiter with the Virginia Guard is very actively looking for NG flight candidates.

I'm too old and my eyes suck.

Call your state Guard HQ, & ask to speak to an OFFICER recruiter. Enlisted recruiters will screw you everytime. Then you have to choose between commissioned pilot or Warrant. Good luck.

Enlisted recruiter can put them in 09S slot but he'll speak with the OSM first. So no the enlisted recruiter will not screw you everytime.

I hear ya, I'm in the process of becoming a pilot for the national guard and I've been trying to find a different state, or AD to become apart of..... what a long pain in the butt road this is....

I know NY and MD have some decent CAB units, and PA has a AH-64 unit somewhere too...
