Help with Ranger packet.

Got back from A-stan not to long ago and want more of a challenge... so I am trying to put in my Ranger packet but I keep getting the run-around.
Can anybody square me away with exactly what I need? My Squadron Commander and Battery Commander have already agreed to give me the next slot but my S1 shop really sucks. The medics are all jacked up so it is nearly impossible to get a physical. I have already talked to the PA and she said she would work an angle for me. So I really need to figure out the rest of the paper work and do it myself.
I have started a DA 4187 but am not sure of the addresses on top. Any help would be much appreciated.

Are you trying to be re-assigned to them or go to the school?
It sounds like you want the school. If that's the case, your S1 doesn't suck, it just isn't their job. Try your S3 Schools NCO. If he/she can't help you then your Schools NCO sucks. If your S3 doesn't have a Schools NCO then your S3 sucks.

Thanks for the input. I am just trying to get the school. I have been going through the Schools NCO also. Unfortunately he sucks too but he is also a friend of mine and doesn't know how to do his job.

I am sure freefall can set you straight on that. From when I had to get a few packets together, the hardest part was getting the physical scheduled. Our PA was all backed up with chapters and oddball shit. I don't think you necessarily need to go through the medics. You just need to get it scheduled with the PA through the medical clinic. I think in the packet there is also a deal where the commander needs to sign off that you can do a swim test and some other shit if I remember correctly. I think there is packet info up on the school's website.

as someone else said, schools nco.
if they cant help then you need to keep doing what you are doing now and be proactive. get online, cant remember the site but thru ako somehow you can look up schools, find the next dates for the school. you can download parts of the packet and packing lists.
our medics didn't do the physical, ours were done at the army hospital on post by a doctor.
one word of caution, clear everything you do through your NCO, otherwise someone will get pissed and say you didn't go through your chain of command blah blah blah.
if your battalion schools nco sucks, try brigade schools nco, get permission then go talk to him.
is there a pre ranger course you can attend?

1st make sure your Supervisor is read in on everything you are trying to do.
Yep go to your S-3 schools NCO and see when the next pre Ranger course is.
Then just call you local hospital or TMC to schedule a physical.
For your physical you should go to the hospital and do your labs(blood, urine and chest x-ray) and then schedule a day to see the Doc.

Guy in my unit is tabbed and was a BATT boy...he is the 1 of 2 of the fattest dudes I have ever seen in the army(he does know his shit though).1st make sure your Supervisor is read in on everything you are trying to do.

Yea and to alot of Marines, a fat Army guy somehow makes them think all Army guys are fat and lazy.
