Guess there isn't that many Marines here that can answer I assume.
I have seen Marines buying tanker boots at Fort Knox. Don't know if they are allowed to wear them though. I swear I have seen Marines in tanker boots while deployed but I could be wrong. Don't see why not tanker boots make sense in some armor vehicles. Having served in the 1st CAV I have seen a lot of tanker boots so my memory on the Marine tankers could be a little fuzzy.
I am sure there are at least some Marine tankers on here who can respond maybe they have not seen this post yet.
If you think thats flashy you should see an Army Cav party. Stetsons, spurs, old school boots, sashes and sabers.
They are not authorized for normal wear.
Never saw them.
I think it is odd that Marines have tankers to begin with. They must need tanks, but also not have enough of them because a lot of Army tankers I knew got attached to Marine units in Iraq. Even stranger was them using M60 tanks during the first gulf war. It does make a lot of sense to wear laceless boots in Abrams because if your laces come undone and it gets caught in something outside the turret, you may lose a foot if one of the screens is missing or damaged.
Those are almost as gay as tanker boots.

Want me to go there?

Those don't look like the "scarlet stripe sewn down the legs of uniform pants" I do have red suspenders though.
If you ain't CAV...

Can clarify? Can they wear them as long as they are manning a tank, just not for normal everyday duty use or are they not authorized completely.

I don't doubt some have been worn in the field before, I have a friend who wore converse sneakers in the field. However they are not authorized at all.
Nope.. they wear regular steel toes just like trackers
In my day they wore jungle boots like the rest of us.
