Possibly only a partial wall up to the drop ceiling as well. Hit the back wall and came back over their heads?

They mention a closet, but I'm not sure. I'd hope it wasn't. If it was that adds even more

Possibly. Anybody ever work on or around a drop ceiling? It's not strong to start with and it's held up by little wires and roofing tin. Gotta watch your surroundings.
