My wife is pregnant with our second child and due in October. I'd like to get a thoughtful gift to give her in the hospital when the baby is born.

She'll be expecting flowers so I want to do more than that. She has plenty of jewelry already so while I'm not ruling it out I'm not big on the idea. She puts up me and has given me a wonderful life since she's been in it so I really want to do something special for her but I'm stumped. Budget is $500 or less but it doesn't necessarily have to a monetary value attached to it. Judging by her first pregnancy she'll be a little down after the baby is born so something to help cheer her up would be great I need some inspiration, anyone have an idea? Thanks in advance.

A copy of this very thoughtful post should make her feel like the greatest Mom/Wife ever. Seriously. No $$ required.

Get her a gift card/certificate for a day at the spa with the provision that she can redeem it at any time in the future. The a couple of weeks or months after the big day take over the house, the kids, everything so she can get away from all the stress of child rearing and go to the Spa and feel like a woman again.

The last time I did that for her she waited until the gift card was about to expire and had to go after work. She didn't seem to enjoy it like I thought but maybe that's because she was rushed. Maybe if I decided on a date to watch the kids beforehand she could plan it out and have a nice relaxing day. Maybe some cash to go shopping while she was out would be a nice touch as well.

How about I write her a card that says basically what I said in the post to go with the flowers?
