The Stans were a killer. No problem with the rest.

Yeah +1 on that. I thought i was pretty wizz bang on geography, but those 'stans sure are confusing. Confusing enough to inspire me to do a little research on when and why they came about.

I've re-arranged some of it.

I got a fair number right on the first touch. Of course, if you've ever seen Spies Like Us, you have no trouble placing Tajikstan. Who says pop culture is crap?

Ive travelled through middleeast and north africa for 20+ years, both private and as a hired pipewelder, ive seen it all, travelled with muslim friends to their homecountries and every year i take 2 weeks in Dubai and the persian gulf. However, its far more "unfriendly" to travel now than before 9/11 outside the usual tourist traps like Dubai, Bahrain etc, and if youve seen it once its enough.
