Arlington National Cemetery
I watched a good National Geographic show called Arlington: Field of Honor that I got off Netflix. It had a lot of good history about the
Arlington National Cemetery. I was
looking for a trailer for the show on youtube and found they have the whole 1hour show posted. Here it is if anyone wants to watch it. I liked it.
Arlington: Field of Honor (sorry, it won't let me embed it)
Here is some good info about the
Tomb of the Unknown Honor Guards. Those guys are sharp. I want to make a trip up there some day.
I found some cool videos of the guards keeping people in line.

I was looking for some info on Sergeant Major Michael Stack who's funeral they showed at the end of the show.
He was manning a machine gun on a Humvee when his 12-man Special Forces team was ambushed on
April 11, 2004, in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. Looks like he was a great soldier and man. Rest in peace brother.

That is the place I most regret not being able to see on my one day trek into DC.
My boyscout troop during the national jamboree will see these guys and picnic at the cemetary.
I work there on a regular basis. The District I work for does the development, maintenance, and renovations at the Cemetery. I know the Administrator from meetings. He grew up there watching his father do the same job.
I have also been there for the funeral of a friend.
That place has some awesome history, information, and stories in each headstone or tomb.
Is that a porta potty to the left ? Thats a bit close isnt it?
Thanks for posting this.

Thats the guard station where there is a phone should assistance be needed and for inclement weather. However, a Tomb Guard won't leave his post no matter the weather.
I've been to the Tomb of the Unknowns. Its a very sobering place. The time I was there people were very quiet and respectful.
Been there many times, almost every time i went someones phone went off or some dumbass made too much noise, watching those videos shows you whats wrong with this country, respect has gone out the window.
OP, thanks for posting....
There is an unofficial website that has a lot of good info on Arlington, and has started to compile bios of the people buried there. It's definitely worth a look!
