Can I mail my handgun to myself without send it to an FFL? I’m going to FL from VA and I’d like to mail one of my handguns to my parents address the day before I leave, addressed to me, I’ll be there when it arrives. Is that legal?

If you mean "mail" as in USPS, NO you can not mail a handgun unless you are licensed. You can legally ship a handgun to yourself via common carrier, ie UPS FedEx, however their corporate policies usually make this very difficult.
Yes -
Q: May a nonlicensee ship firearms interstate for his or her use in hunting or other lawful activity?
Yes. A person may ship a firearm to himself or herself in care of another person in the State where he or she intends to hunt or engage in any other lawful activity. The package should be addressed to the owner. Persons other than the owner should not open the package and take possession of the firearm.

ETA: As the poster above mentioned, not via USPS.
as noted above, yes. i've done this to go coyote hunting out west, shipping an AR to myself, "to" my hosts' address - I just had UPS hold the item at the local UPS store (distribution center really) and i picked it up myself. at the time, i think i had to do 2 day shipping, not ground, or some such policy to adhere to the carrier's requirements, but as far as the .gov/atf goes, it is legal as long as it's to you, for you, from you.

Both UPS and FedEx require Next Day/Overnight for handgun shipments. Rifles and shotguns can be shipped "Ground".
