I found a book at a junk shop today.

Approx 3" x 6", green cover

Says "SENATOR" then an upside down triangle then "1946"

1st page:

"NOMADIC

NOITINOMDA: Sliated laiceps rof koob eulb eht tlusnoc ot dehsinomda si hturt retfa rekees dna tneduts esolc eht."

That of course is just backwards and readable, the rest of the book is jibberish to me..

OP-CRM

CC-T z m wl tt-------, n ----KOP, nw cm + od i ROK

and so on and so forth, plenty of weird characters tat I am not sure my comp has in it...

any ideas?

Pigpen cypher has been used by the masons in the past, but it isn't an actual code or of any actual value. Do the weird characters look like these?

Ok. Give me a break. Have you NEVER seen a movie? You have got to decide now, whether you're the main character or an extra. Don't read from that book, in fact, take it back where you got it

The work varies from state to state and country to country. It is also changed slightly from time to time.

Masons:

Little boys with the "secret code" who never grew up.

Here's a tip: build a tree house. It's cheaper.

Oh yeah, that won't get you out of the house and away from the wife, will it?

OKAY, go ahead with the secret handshake crap that we all know about anyway.

+1 Why is it that every weird POS that someone finds is a Masonic something-or-other for their (OOOooo) secret ceremonies and devil worshiping?! I watched a program on the Discovery Channel about Freemasonry.....amazing.....I never saw any of that sh*t!

Perhaps a more fitting reply would be "Without the Freemasons, this country likely wouldn't exist".

third pic, text is probably shorthand of some sort, possibly coded, but its a conversation between two (three at the end) people.

48 pages? 48 pictures sent to me would be great ;)

Most Grand Lodges frown on the books, this being one of the reasons. Of course most of us have it (or had) memorized.

Don't forget ETH was a bro.

Not really code, it's more of a memory aide. If you know or knew the rituals you recognize the words.

Try going from TX to OK. They do things a lot different than we do(TX), and if your memory is rusty, you'll be thrown out during the opening of the lodge.

I haven't been a member long, but I've already seen a couple of changes in TX work. Notably, what others call "ciphers" weren't legal here until the last Grand Lodge session--not that those who taught the work didn't have them anyway. They still aren't legal for anyone other than a master mason to have.

Order of the Easter Star is the women's appendant body of Blue Lodge Freemasonry. The chapter/lodge my wife is a member of just decided to buy phone cards to send to the guys in the sandbox.
