Can a Sheep get impregnated by a man ?
realist  [Member]

There is this Guy, in his 50's in my neighborhood that was telling me that a sheep
can concieve a human but it will be born stillborn.. I told him what he states is most likely a myth.. he was extreamly adamate about it and said that men have been procecuted for illeagal sex with animals and they had the stillborn "human sheep fetus" as proof in court.

I even bet him 20 bucks that it's a myth.. I find no info to support his statement online except one, just a guy online stating almost the same..

Anybody know of this alledged story ?

Thanks, Realist

Oh... and This guy is a lawyer by the way.. and not an idiot drunk... double !

Be weary of a man that claims to know much about a man impregnating a sheep.

He just may know something.

Did no one go to Biology 101? The answer is no, you cannot get a sheep pregnant no matter how hard you try... Seek therapy, now.

You cannot breed BETWEEN species. While I'm not an expert in biology, I believe that is one of the definition of "species"

Even very close genetic "cousins" like chimps and humans, for instance, are not compatible enough to breed.

Humans have 46 chromosomes. Domestic sheep have 54. In addition none of the chromosomes of one species match up with any of the chromosomes of the other.

So its not possible for 2 reasons right off the bat:
1)The differences in the number of chromosomes means you are going to have some sheep chromosomes that aren't paired to anything. Missing 1 chromosome of a pair is usually lethal. Missing a chromosome from 4 different pairs= definitely not going to get past the single cell stage. Now, there are some species of monkeys and some species of fish that can get along fine with only 1 set of chromosomes or with extra sets, but that's not really relevant, since neither humans nor any of the livestock they sometimes attempt to breed with have this trait.

2)None of the chromosomes from either species match up to form a pair. Having 50 different chromosomes that don't pair up with anything is bad for life expectancy unless you are one of the afore mentioned fish.

I hope this guy doesn't ever argue cases that stray into biology.

No way, no how. Just can't happen. Genetically impossible. Guy is a bonehead, and you can tell him I said so.

He probably heard an ARFCOMMER talking about Sheeple, and took it literally.

Short answer, no.
Long answer: Hell no.
Really long answer: Sheep are O. aries, we are H. Sapiens. There is no way that cross fertilization would work, at least to a viable stage. There is a chance that when the sperm penetrates the egg, the egg will begin cell division, but it would quickly abort because the egg would not be able to use the DNA from the human sperm.

No you can not knock up a sheep, as a side note it is also possible to make hamburgers from ground meat, you do not have to purchase the pre made patties. Just form them yourself.

I did have a friend who, when he was way younger, planned to kill his grandpa's mare because it was knocked up and he thought he did it.

(BTW:I did read somewhere that a sheeps vagina looks almost exactly like a human one....)

Which raises the question (and I know SOMEONE here knows the answer; this IS arfcom)... do sheep have clits, or do they look like Muslim women?

OK, most of you folks won't believe this...but its the true and was witnessed by 3 others.
I have seen the offspring of a cat and a rabbit. "Crabbits". I'm not joking.
They lived 3 days (4 of them), then died one by one. They hopped like a rabbit, had small ears like a cat, eyes were close together. I really wish I would have taken pics, but it was prior to digital cams and I was 13 years old.
I have seen tom cats attempt to mount rabbits, and apparently one of them succeded.
BTW, the person who owned the momma rabbit kept it in the house, with the cats.
Fly the BS flag all you want...I seen it.

Most Muslim women have clits there Mr. International. You're thinking of women mainly from certain areas in Africa.

I know they're born with them, anyways. And that yes, in Africa and other areas, no clitorus is safe from sharp objects.

Nope - look up ligers, tigons, borneo bat eaters, mules, etc. etc. Similar species can and do crossbreed all the time. The offspring are almost always sterile, though.

Whatz a 'mule' or a 'liger' then?

And I wouldnt put money on the human/chimp thing. I read in an article years back that it 'might' be possible for humans/chimps to interbreed and create a hybrid. We are that close. I have heard that Chimps and bonobos might be a better fit under homo, instead of pan.

That is what I was going to say. There are a few species that can bread. Horse/donkey and Lion/tiger are the only two I can think of.

A mule is male donkey bred to a mare horse. Always female, always sterile. A hinney is the opposite gender match but again, sterile female. Donkey have 62 chromosomes while horses 64.

A liger is a lion bred to a tiger.
