What are the symptoms.. Right now my Honda pulls to the right, steering wheel oscillates ( Not bad, but you do notice).. And its gone from a really good nice ride to like riding in a cement truck in the last few days...

If you think you have bad tires, you probably have bad tires.

Usually there will be bulges in the tread of the tires. Look for things that shouldn't be there: bulges, bumps, humps, ect........everything except round.

A broken belt will feel like a somethings on the tire, and it will quickly become out of balance. It *shouldn't* really affect your tracking/alignment, but it will be a big vibration, until the tire sheds it caseing.

gmtmaster: Take a visual inspection of your tires, and if you see anything abnormal or out of the ordinary, ie bulgies, worn spots etc get it taken care of, high speed blow-outs are no fun especially in ice and snow.

Probably a weight or alignment issue...

Run your hand over the tread. It should feel smooth. If you feel a hump, get a new tire.

Hitting a pothole or rock can break a belt in a tire.

A minute with a scissors jack, jacking each front wheel off the ground just enough to clear...rotate tire each by hand, look for out of round or bulging areas, also if the tire rubs the ground in one spot.
While it's up in the air, grab on to the tire on both sides and see if it moves around...you are checking for worn tie rod ends or other possible suspension problems.
The pulling can be caused by something as simple as underinflation.
You may also have front end wear, depending on mileage or if you hit a curb.
I have had broken belts so bad the car bounced down the road.

Do a visual inspection of your tires. If they are old but the tread is still good, check for bulges. Your tires may be fine.
If your car pulls to the right, get a wheel alignment done.
If the steering wheel oscillates, get the tires balanced.

I haven't seen a legitimately broken belt in 15+ years, and those were on a college friend's '81 Supra (back when the Supra was a Celica option group) with BF Goodrich's.

If it's on the sidewall, there will be a lump as the others have stated, kind of like a tire hernia.

If their pants fall down.

Seriously, have the balance checked on them and have the tires checked over at the same time. You could have anything from a bent rim, lost wheelweights, to a bulge on the sidewall.

They wouldn't happen to be D60's, would they? I had 3 out of 4 go bad in less than 20K.

Diagnosed by a pro.. Broken belts on 2 of the 4 and a seperated casing on one of them.
