 What color is "OD Green"?

Now I'm totally confused.

2 weeks ago I wrapped my Ace ARFX-LE stock with "OD green" paracord I ordered off the net. Thought it looked good so I ordered a CQB Solutions Mout sling to match; only it didn't! It was brighter green (almost flouresent). I thought, no big deal, I'll get some Magpul rail protectors in OD green and it'll look better. Only, today when I got them, they are yet a different "OD green color"!? So... The rail protectors are very dark green (almost black), the paracord is brown/green, and the sling is medium green.

Is this always the case or did I just choose a bad combination of components?

Maybe I should have stuck with black.....

"Olive Drab (military abbreviation for the color that was for a long time the standard camouflage shade of American soldiers and arms. In the 1970's, the (West) German Military developed a pattern of green, brown and black ("NATO Green'') that is now used by the U.S. military."
