Bought one of those microcams
Just got one of those keychaiin micro cams.
I was impressed with the video quality from a $20 camera.
Took this video this morning on my drive to work. Just commute footage, but demonstrates the video quality you get with one of these cheapy cameras.
You should have driven in the left lane at 45 mph with the video showing everyone passing you on the right.

Damn, that is very high quality for $20! I expected something like we used to get on our 60's vintage Motorola with rabbit ears.

Can the date and time stamp be disabled for playback or is it always on?

I think you have to do something to the firmware to get rid of the time/date stamp.
That is pretty good quality for a $20 cam.
How did it transfer to the computer? USB?
Link?
source?

Either a USB cable or an adapter for a micro sd card and a card reader.
hmmm

We had another thread about here last week that ending up getting locked because it turned into a sale thread after the site owner joined up, so I am not going to hotlink it in this thread.

It looks like it'll take some abuse, but it is just a keyfob, so I wouldn't go too crazy with it.
That's not too shabby.
I wonder if you could hook a motion sensor to it for security?

I sure am. At 6:38am, I'm still sawing logs.
I am glad I saved that other thread. for $20.00 I am getting in on this. Way Better quality on road test than I was expecting.
I spend more money than I should cause of this site.
Cool little cam..

The full length of the video this morning was a hair over 25 minutes and is 1.5 gigs. Battery life is supposed to be an hour, so a 4 gig card will last you as long as the battery does.

The website didn't recommend a card that large because the battery only lasts an hour. The 4gig will record an hour.
Looks like it has very little dynamic range. Way too many black areas in images.

Looks to be worth it too. I'm getting one to use as a dashcam.
Now everyone can have a cam when stopped by the cops. Game changer for the bad ones out there.
no upskirt shots yet?... WTF!

Actually just past the first sign for Air Base, my stupid friend rolled his corolla up that hill then right back down.
His cell phone was ejected across the freeway. He heard it ring and ran across to go get it, then call for help.

Get one and mount it on your gun, bet it would be kinda neat to see that after shooting a competition.
It's internal battery is charged via USB.
My cell phone car charger has a USB charging port.
Would it be possible to install a 64GB microSD card, plug the thing into the car charger, and record for 16 hours?

I don't know.

From a pretty well-researched webpage that came to light in the previous thread, I’d say that the answer is “MAYBE” – I’ll post the link
to the page when I get home.
According to the page’s builder, this series (there appears to be about a dozen or so variants) are assembled in China from cell-phone
components, and it all depends on which model # you get as to how it ultimately will behave in various aspects. ISTR that the #3 variant
is the best performing model, has the external port for your SD-card, best video & sound, etc.
Some models will charge up the battery, then stop. Others you had to keep an eye on, or the battery will overcharge & Kaboom. Some
had internal memory only that couldn’t be changed, etc.
It seems well worth the reading, and I’m only about halfway through it.
Mine's in the mail. Gonna velcro it myself and get a 4 GB card for it.

What's the Framerate?

Well, that is a significant issue for upskirt shots.

Does it record audio too?
