From the preview I'm guessing one of the myths they are testing is "Guns can fire full auto throughout a movie without reloading.

And of course no Mythbusters thread is complete without the obligatory Kari Byron photo.

I see that same smile on almost every woman I see at the gun range when I go....

It's more than the looks. Outgoing personality, extremely smart, knows how to use tools, full of energy, not a bitch. All of that overcomes "average" looks and makes a plain woman a lady that wars start over.

Yup... Keep the perfect tens with more personality flaws than Obama... Give me a girl like her any day.

What's interesting is that even a the cliche CA vegetarian liberal can't help but have a smile on her face when shooting a gun.

My wife's not into guns at all. I drag her along every now and then, let her shoot one shot and the response is always "Again!!"

Why does the M16 cyclic rate increase as he goes through tha mag?

Totally uneducated guess buy maybe because of the friction rounds from the magazine spring. I.e. they are easier to strip off and strip off faster with less spring pressure as the rounds exit the magazine.

Thermal expansion causes looser tolerances. You see it with a lot of rifles, not just M16s.

THEN the personality, guns, tech, SFX, and fabrication skills get thrown on top of that.

I agree that the San Francisco/Vegetarian thing gives me pause, however, at least from what you can glean from the show, she seems to be the type where meat personally grosses her out, but she's not at all ideological about it. There's plenty of parts of meat animals I find disgusting beyond the large basic muscle cuts that other people enjoy. Tongue, brains, eyes, or those cultures where the just boil the whole damn goat's head and pick at it from a serving platter..

So , did anyone watch the episode?

Yea, no shit, get over the broad... She's nothing special, and the way some of you describe her, you would think you actually KNOW her..

as to the show.. I saw pieces of it where they draw and fire on a guy with a knife.. for starters, Adam has no skill and every time he drew the pistol, he racked the slide prior to shooting, and I'm not sure why. But if you get a more skilled shooter that actually chambers a round prior to pulling it out of the holster, you would get a better result, also get off off the line of attack.

It was mainly just a reason to show guns and machineguns for ratings. The myths they were testing were lame, anyone with a working knowledge of firearms already knew the answers.

1. Do MGs shoot for ever like in the movies

2. Will a MAC-10 fire falling down the steps (ie True Lies)

3. Can a nail gun at 14 or 7 feet be used as a lethal weapon

4. If you draw first you lose

and I turned it off at that point......

They should have just made the show about Kari wearing a bikini shooting MGs in slo-mo
