Uninformed people at gun shows and the dangers (ATF bait)

Got back from the gun show a few hours ago and I bought a few things but nothing spectacular. The one thing that made me go was I saw a guy walking around with a Radom PPS-43 pistol which is fine...........Only one problem..........The dumb ass dremiled the stock open without tax stamp approval and was trying to sell it.

The other thing I've noticed is the AOW thing throws people. You will sometimes see a Draco at a gun show with a foregrip etc and the same thing no paperwork just did it because.

So......what type of uniforms were they wearing?

I saw a dealer at a show who had a KelTec PLR-16 with a foregrip. It was a cool looking thing and as I was handling it I asked the guy behind the table about the NFA paperwork.

He looked at me with

I told him, "I'm no expert, but I'm under the impression that a pistol with a foregrip needs to be registered with the BATF."

He proceeded to argue with me, so I just shrugged and moved along. Didn't care enough to argue the point.

The stock is in a folded closed position. It takes about a hour to get it to where it's operational.

Well to answer the question no uniforms. What I mean is I can almost guarantee that in the case of something like that at least one Civilian clothes agent was paying attention to that item for a bit. I've heard of the ATF checking out the Market Hall show a lot in recent months because of the amount of traffic.

I think that the OP meant to say UNINFORMED...as in not being informed... and just fucked up the spelling. Or else he doesn't know the difference between UNIFORMED and UNINFORMED.

Had to google that, cause I had no idea what a ppsh pistol was. Makes sense now.

I get tired of this. Sure there is an occasion sting but its far far more likely that its just a dumb ass. Why do you assume no one breaks the law and anyone who does is atf ?

I wonder about the Glock SBR kits and forward grips they sell on Amazon. How many people have installed these on their Glocks without a stamp and have no idea how risky it is?

unfortunately some people just aren't up on the various (retarded) laws such as AOW or SBR, hell even F/A. I bet at least all of you at one time have come across some gun noob who has come off with the line of "YAH I WANNA TURN THIS SKS INTO FULL AUTO, I READ YOU JUST GOTTA FILE DOWN THE FIRING PIN"

especially recently in the past few years with the boom in new gun ownership.

It's an AOW, if it under 26" overall length.

Over 26" it's just a firearm with a VFG.
