Eddie seems to shit on the band members. They were a great band back in the day.

As much as I've played into the ground "Women and Children First" from my early high school days, and tolerated Van Hagar, I've got to say I've never seen any concert by either incarnation that was worth a shit.

David Lee Roth was so drunk in 1982 he came on and staggered through 20 minutes of play and forgot the words.

Sammy at Monsters of Rock at Texas Stadium in 1988 cried "my throat's blow out" and stopped the show cold. Some roadie came out and said they would do a free show to make up for it.
The Scorpions and Kingdom Come made up for it.
They showed up unannounced in Dallas West End and played from a flat bed trailer 2 years later, a lot of good it did those at Texas Stadium on the day they crapped out.

I like their albums, but they suck in concert.

I've seen Rush, Yes, BOC, Heart, Ozzy, Alice In Chains, Foreigner, Styx, Foghat, Metallica, Dio, ELO, Moody Blues, Metallica and Anthrax all live. I saw Pantera live at Joe's Garage in Fort Worth before they got their hard crunchy edge signing with Atlantic.
All of these bands put out an outstanding show, sound quality par to the album.
As many years as those Van Halen clowns have been making music, I find it hard to believe I got the only two suck ass shows.

Sorry Van Halen Sucks live.

I saw them in 2008. It was really a great show. The only thing that I couldn't stand was Diamond Dave talking between songs. He has all the charm of an airport motel lounge singer.

My friend told me he took a break between songs to show a video of him and his dogs that he raises when hes not doing the VH thing when he saw them recently.

People were getting pissed when they first announced this tour and put on a small performance at a private bar, dude was up there telling stories.

I appreciate a good Rock n Roll story but there but I guess people who are seeing them now just wanna hear the music and not have it become VH1 storytellers.

Yep. If I could pick one front man to have a beer with he'd probably be close to dead last.

Saw Van Halen live in 1978, Sammy Hagar, Van Halen, Black Sabbath and Boston.
Van Halen ROCKED!!

Saw Van Halen again at the US Festival in 83, they sucked.
DLR was drunk and could not remember the words to the music, they were out of time and out of tune.

Without Michael Anthony playing bass and singing back-up vocals they sound like a really bad Van Halen cover band with an awesome guitar player.

To their credit they are out there playing for the fans and having a good time and that's what it's all about.

Well then, by all means, go see Chickenfoot.

Is Chickenfoot packing out 20,000 seat arenas? Just curious.

Saw 'em the other night in Charlotte ––- great show. Let the haters hate .... it looks like a clean and sober band can rock.
