I wish I hadn't lost all my pictures to a HDD failure years ago. Instantly made me think of the digs at PSAB (Prince Sultan Air Base) from when I was working OSW.

I suspect most Americans today would say the same. Thousands of us did though.....and I bet most look back pretty fondly on their experiences. To be sure, there was a lot of bullshit to go with it, but I guess someone had to do it.

Yep, my time in the USMC defiantely taught me that. The funny thing is, it's the times that were the hardest that I have the fondest memories from.

McGraw Kasern in Munich. Those were some good times. Doing dumb stuff and running like hell before the MP's could respond.

I'm a Cold War child, Hanau '75-76, Darmstadt '76-79. Brother is currently with 2nd Cavalry Regiment, Rose Barracks, Vilseck, Germany (although he's an officer and has an apartment offpost, not sure which town he's in now).

Sure I remember those dumps, I also remember forever mowing or running a weed eater. Of course when you got done with that there were always plenty of rocks to paint.

I'm not hating on you guys if it came off like that, but can't beat having your own house and yard ya know? I guess it's not an option available to everyone, and I'm glad when people can live in such volume and make it work right. I've never experienced it but i know places like that in the cities usually are not very....safe....

ETA I think I am off based I thought they were just apt complexes lol

I absolutely agree with this statement. I also cannot, for the life of me, explain why.
